Megan Maryott joined the Research Integrity and Assurance office in 2016 as summer intern. She returned for several subsequent summers, and then was hired as a consultant to assist with protocol entry and amendment integration for the eRIA IACUC and IBC electronic management systems. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Behavior from Towson University, followed by an additional Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Camden County College, an AVMA accredited veterinary nursing program. She proudly holds certifications in Fear Free Handling of animals and is RECOVER Certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support in Veterinary Medicine.
Megan worked as an Emergency and Critical Care Credentialed Veterinary Technologist for six years at a specialty veterinary hospital. She was promoted to the Lead of the Emergency Department in 2022, helping to oversee one of the busiest veterinary specialty emergency rooms in the area. Megan enjoys the oversight of teaching and training programs, and working to implement new policies and procedures to help others gain experience in their field. She enjoys working with all species of animals, including exotics and farm animals. Megan is excited to re-join RIA as a Senior Compliance Administrator, helping to oversee research compliance for IACUC, IBC, IRB, and COI. In her free time, Megan enjoys doing art projects and spending time with her three kids, Madelyn, Riley, and Jackson, and their dog, Franny, at her home in South Jersey.
