The Office of Research Integrity and Assurance is pleased to announce that Susan Kiesling will join the Institutional Review Board team as Compliance Administrator starting January 7th.
Princeton University reported an incident of non-compliance pertaining to animal welfare on Oct. 1 to the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare of the National Institutes of Health, in accordance with federal law. The incident involved the death of a mouse after a treatment plan was not followed due to staffing changes.
Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) welcomes Dr. Jamus MacGuire as Assistant Director of Veterinary Services. In this role, Jamus oversees daily operations of the Veterinary Services team and manages all aspects of veterinary care for Princeton’s research animals, including non-human primate health surveillance and preventative medicine.
The Office of Research Integrity and Assurance is pleased to announce that Sandy Baker has accepted the position of Post-Approval Monitor for IACUC, IRB, and IBC. Sandy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Saint Joseph’s University and a Master’s Degree in Laboratory Animal Science from Drexel University.
The Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALACi) has renewed its full accreditation of Princeton, commending the University for “providing and maintaining an exemplary program of laboratory animal care and use.”
