Gene Drive Modified Organisms (GDMOs) are now regulated
The NIH Office of Science Policy published a revision to the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant and Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules on April 5, 2024. The amendments made in this revision go into effect September 2024. A majority of the changes to the April 2024 version of the NIH Guidelines relate to Gene Drive experiments.

Streamlining the IACUC review process
In June 2024, RIA announced that the IACUC review process has been streamlined to reduce the overall time to approval and cycles of review and revision.

AAALAC is coming to town!
