Research, Integrity and Assurance (RIA) is pleased to announce the launch of the new online registration management system for the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). eRIA-IBC was implemented in support of the research community conducting experiments using biological materials. This is the third module in the eRIA suite joining the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) & Institutional Review Board (IRB) with electronic administration capabilities.
All existing approved IBC registrations were migrated to the new system on behalf of the Principal Investigators (PIs) prior to Go-live.
- This new system reduces the administrative burden on faculty and staff by replacing the PDF registration form with an online “smart” form which streamlines the registration submission AND approval process.
- Approved amendments are automatically integrated into the originally approved registration ensuring the most complete and up-to-date version is always available for reference by those who need access.
- Due to the “always current” nature of the electronic version of the registration, the periodic re-write effort is also substantially reduced for faculty & researchers.
