Congratulations to Sheera Gaskin on receiving the Dr. Robert A. Roosa Regulatory Compliance Award from DVB AALAS. This award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of their efforts and achievements in the field of laboratory animal science. These individuals have made tremendous impacts on animal welfare, IACUC, and post-approval monitoring.
Sheera is a well-known, outspoken and respected compliance administrator and educator in the Tristate area. She is a frequent lecturer at meetings, an avid advocate for the continued use of animals in research, and has a passion for veterinary science and teaching as she continues in her role on the faculty at Camden County College in their Veterinary Technician Program. At Princeton, Sheera successfully developed and implemented our program for post-approval monitoring and she currently serves as the Assistant Director of RIA overseeing the IACUC and IBC.
This award is testament to the respect she has from her peers and her ability to positively impact the use of animals in a compliant and humane manner to further knowledge and education so essential to the core mission at Princeton University.
